Thai government saves petrol prices for now

The Thai government is giving away some of its petrol found to save the car owners from higher oil prices.

They Thai government has not done this since the Thaksin Shinawatra government was in power and he gave away almost 90 Billion THB to keep people happy. That debt is now almost paid and the military government allows themselves to keep people happy for the election.

For every liter of fuel sold, the Oil Fund receives 1.50 baht on diesel, 4.00 baht from premium (octane 95) petrol, 3.70 baht from regular (octane 91) petrol, 70 satang from gasohol 95, and 20 satang from gasohol 91.
